Team Collaboration

APITemplate.io supports teams — shared workspaces where multiple people can collaborate on templates and generate documents together.

What is a team?

A team is a shared workspace that:

  • Lets all members create and view templates
  • Has its own unique API key (separate from personal keys)
  • Shares the team owner's subscription plan
  • Supports role-based permissions

Creating a team

  1. In the top navigation bar, click the down arrow button next to your workspace name
  2. Click Add a New Team at the bottom of the team list
  3. Enter a name for your team

Switching between workspaces

Transferring templates to a team

You can move templates from your personal workspace to a team:

  1. Go to Manage Templates
  2. Find the template you want to transfer
  3. Click the transfer icon in the Transfer To Team column
  4. Select the destination team
  5. Click Transfer

Team API key

Each team has its own API key, separate from your personal API key. Use the team's API key when generating documents for that team's templates.

You can find the team's API key in API Integration while you're switched to the team workspace.

Deleting or transferring a team

In Team Settings, the Danger Zone section lets you delete or transfer team ownership. These options are only available to the team owner.

caution

Deleting a team removes all templates and data associated with it. This action cannot be undone.
